We happened upon it during the Viehschau (cattle fair) which is held every year in Stein, lots of beer and a beautiful show made up of parades of cows/goats and typical Appenzell farmers. The hotel met our expectations, the manager and staff were very helpful and friendly. From Stein you can reach both Appenzell and St. Gallen in a short time, which is very convenient if you want to visit multiple cities in a short time.

Unfortunately nothing has been invested in the last few years.

We enjoyed... read more We travelled overland and discovered this restaurant by chance. The owners were very friendly and found a free table in this well visited restaurant. We enjoyed the good service with fresh salad and a foundue chinoise a discretion and a bootle of good wine from Graubünden. The price quality rate was very good. Highly recommended. We will come back.
