We traveled across land and discovered this restaurant by chance. the owners were very friendly and found a free table in this well visited restaurant. we enjoy... read more We traveled across land and discovered this restaurant by chance. the owners were very friendly and found a free table in this well visited restaurant. we enjoyed the good service with fresh salat and a found chinoise to measure and a bootle good weines out. that's not so. the price quality rate was very good. highly recommended. we're coming back.

I love the hokey 60s decor mixed with traditional elements. the restaurant is known for its all-you-can-eat fondue, accompanied by delicious homemade sauces and fantastic frits. there is an extensive wine list and. the owner always has a good choice of reasonable open crying in the offer. twice in the month they have to listen to live appenzeller folk music while they eat.

We happened upon it during the Viehschau (cattle fair) which is held every year in Stein, lots of beer and a beautiful show made up of parades of cows/goats and typical Appenzell farmers. The hotel met our expectations, the manager and staff were very helpful and friendly. From Stein you can reach both Appenzell and St. Gallen in a short time, which is very convenient if you want to visit multiple cities in a short time.
