The vibe is warm, f... read more I absolutely love this place! Was taken here for my birthday several years ago and we recently returned for a friend's birthday celebration. The vibe is warm, friendly and upscale without being snooty or pretentious. My friend was not feeling the ono fish special, but when the manager stopped by to see how we were doing, he quickly and graciously allowed her to replace it she ordered the scallops instead (which were AWESOME). I'd return in a heart beat.

Historically We LOVE Park Ave. but our recent lunch experience did not meet their usual standards for great service good atmosphere. {90% of our meals have been... read more Historically We LOVE Park Ave. but our recent lunch experience did not meet their usual standards for great service good atmosphere. {90% of our meals have been dinner} We took senior friends, and when making our 12:30 lunch reservation, I had explained we 'd prefer a quiet area, due to two in our group who struggle with good hearing. (Thinking they would find a table away from the main dining area if they were busy As this OpenTable review option only offered Energetic as a choice I can elaborate by saying, LOUD HARD to hear our conversation, and I DO NOT have poor hearing. Our server that day was evidently not in a good mood either, and out of a 1.5 hr. visit, we counted two smiles! We are a friendly set of four long time friends but she did not share our positive attitudes and was not particularly courteous other than to one of the elder men who she must have thought might leave her a tip. NOT, he was not paying the bill, nor did she get more than the most minimal of tips. It will be awhile until we return even for dinner. The meal itself was well prepared as usual, and the special menu we from where chose to select our meals, made the visit worth it, regardless of the less that typical service, and higher noise level.
