I wasn't aware that you don't get to choose your own meat or sides at this restaurant. When we arrived, the server placed us at a table and brought out three meats: beef, pork, and chicken. We asked for water, but it took quite a while—almost until we were halfway through our meal before we received it! There was supposed to be a salad included, but we never got any. My friend was so put off by the food and the atmosphere that she didn't end up eating anything, but I thought the meat was decent and the soup was good. For $12, I really can't complain too much. I just wish someone had taken the time to explain how the restaurant worked, as the server didn't communicate with us at all.
A wonderful Korean lady runs this restaurant, and she always welcomes us with a smile. While the decor may not be the most impressive in the area, the food is fantastic and consistently fresh. We dine here at least once a week and have never been disappointed.
If you're looking for value, this place definitely delivers. I used to have to travel all the way to Lakewood to find an all-you-can-eat option for $10-11, but that's no longer necessary. The meat is quite good for the price. You'll get the usual brisket, along with marinated beef, pork, and chicken. Although the brisket comes frozen, it doesn't end up dry or rubbery when cooked, unlike some other places. Just be careful not to overcook it, and it will be juicy when you bite into it. I think the marinade is excellent. The only downside is the lack of certain options on the $10.99 menu. I haven't tried their more expensive all-you-can-eat option, but the $10.99 selection is satisfying enough that I don't feel like I'm missing out.
I celebrated my birthday in 2015. Jan, the manager, was very helpful. We had a group of 50 people and had privacy on the side. We could bring our own music. The additional meat plates were delivered as soon as we wanted to refill. Jan brought my b'day cake on a car lit with candles, turned off lights and brought everyone happy b'day singing! It was an unforgettable experience. Many pages were also given. Not much room to dance between the tables, but that didn't stop us lol
