There were so many food options at an affordable price, and everything was delicious! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were extremely friendly. I will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you to the staff for such a positive experience.

Previously known as a greasy spoon cafe, Star Cafe a... read more Our group of cyclists has been frequenting the Star Cafe and various other eateries on our rides for years. Previously known as a greasy spoon cafe, Star Cafe always had friendly staff, delicious food, and reasonable prices. The cafe used to be bustling with customers, making it difficult for our group of nine to find a table. However, after being closed for several months and under new ownership, we recently visited and were disappointed to find that it is still a greasy spoon cafe, but now with higher prices and lower quality food. Menu items, such as a small pot of tea for £3, beans on toast for £5, and a bacon sandwich on dry white bread for £4, are much pricier compared to other local establishments in Eccleshall. It was apparent that the cafe was nearly empty when we arrived, with only one other customer coming in for a drink. While we wish the new owners the best of luck, we will not be returning to the Star Cafe.

The service is always friendly and welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble, they will cater for any variation of their menu items, the food is always hot and tasty( and never greasy) I am a pescatarian and sometimes it can be hard to find choices, at the Star Cafe I am spoilt for choice. Their breakfasts are to die for and I love their salads and omlettes. If we ever have to go somewhere else on a Saturday lunch time, I always compare it , and it's never as good. Everything is excellent value for money, and in my opinion their frothy coffees beat all of the fancy expensive ones hands down! Every now and then they do an evening service with traditional Turkish food on offer, this is also fabulous and excellent value. I can't wait for my next visit!
