Underbelly - St. John's
Underbelly
Description
Housed in the Netherlands’ oldest room, this moody, speakeasy-style basement bar pairs historic charm with classic cocktails, an impressive whisky list and Yellow Belly beers. Knowledgeable bartenders, cozy curtain-draped booths, lively music and shareable, veggie-friendly bar food make it a favorite for dates, drinks with friends or solo pints. It’s popular — reservations recommended — and generally well-priced, though guests should be aware of a strict cover-charge policy and occasional inconsistent cocktail balance.

Fantastic restaurant! It boasts the oldest room in the Netherlands, filled with fascinating history. The classic drinks are phenomenal, and the service and staff are excellent. The music adds to the incredible atmosphere! I highly recommend it—whether you’re on a date, catching up with an old friend, or exploring the city’s hotspots for a fantastic dinner. This is definitely the place to be! And let me not forget to mention the impressive selection of whisky!
Awesome service, great food, quiet atmosphere and highly recommend trying the whiskey ;
This is my favorite spot in the entire city. The atmosphere is fantastic, making it an ideal place to enjoy just one pint at the bar. You can also access the complete Yellow Belly menu. In the summer, it’s consistently beautiful and refreshing. I highly recommend stopping by here at least once during your visit to the city.
