Kelly's Pub in St. John's offers a unique local experience with live music, traditional Newfoundland vibes, and friendly service. While some customers praised the hot and speedy food service and the excellent fish and chips, others were disappointed with the lack of cod on their plates and limited vegan options. The atmosphere is a mix of a dive bar and a place with a shade-covered deck suitable for a relaxing afternoon. Overall, Kelly's Pub is recommended for those looking for a lively pub experience with good food and live music, especially for those who enjoy the local Newfoundland culture.

Was Anonym at Kelly's Pub a mag?
Just stopped in one day for a cold beer while waiting for others to finish site seeing. Cold beer on the patio, right on the corner. Seemed like a nice place, it was packed with what seemed like locals inside. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Kelly's Pub:
We had read a couple of reviews about this Pub..Have eaten on George Street before & wanted to try a different place..we went because of the favourable reviews..Wish we had gone somewhere else..We both had fish n'chips..because of the reviews..Maybe it was a bad night for the cook..The fish was good...the batter was thin..& kind of crisp..But oily..left a film of oil coating your mouth..Fries limp..just bad..I had Sa... Great cold beer on tap, server was friendly, washroom was decent. Those little plastic cups they call shot glasses are a joke though, no way in hell those are an oz.
Kelly's pub was a wonderful place to visit. For my first time in st John's, how couldn't I visit George St. Right? The atmosphere on George St. Is unmatched and Wow I couldn't have picked a better pub, I hope the other pubs are similar in their hospitality. the environment at Kelly's was wholesome and welcoming, great live music even on a Thursday night. The food was great (usually when I hear the food is great I brush it off) but they were phenomenal and swift! the waitress was very helpful and attentive, the wide selection of local and imported beer was simply too many to name. As someone who's not a big beer enthusiast I had her surprise me with a few local beer and I was blown away. When leaving I had no problem at all flagging down a cab as they all line up and are ready to go, on the street beside the pub. Definitely a must if visiting St John's. In spite of going by myself I had a great time, the people around here are so friendly, a nightlife unlike any other.
