The fish and chips are a standout, but other items like nachos and calamari impress as well. Gluten-free options are available, and the moose burger is recommended. What Anonym dislikes about The Celtic Hearth:
The food and beer here were OK but not special. We were given the last table in the bar but were not warned about the delay. We had no food at all for an hour plus. Not sure why it is so popular. View all feedback.
I ate here twice while in St. John’s on vacation, once for breakfast and once for lunch. The items are marked on the lunch and dinner menu but not on the breakfast. However the servers are knowledgeable about celiac and had no issue guiding me through the menu and discussing safe preparation with me. I had the ham and cheese omelette which came with gluten free home fries and toast, it was good. We were going hiking that day and this kept me full for a long while. I returned for the moose burger which was very good. I had it with a side garden salad. We were originally unsure because they’re a 24 hour place, and that doesn’t always inspire trust in CC protocols. But this place has it down. You’re safe here.
We had the moose burger and a club sandwich. The burger was a touch overcooked. They apparently have a dedicated GF frier. They didn't make my wife sick. Menu items are labeled. The food was good but the service was slow and seemed very disorganized. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day.
Several menu items can be made Gluten Free. No designated fryer for fries. Server was extremely knowledgeable and personable. Food was really good. Should have taken a photo
