We first heard about Birdie after someone shared a vanilla Danish with us, and I was instantly in love—so naturally, we had to seek out this well-known local bakery. Despite being a small space, it offers a multitude of options, both sweet and savory, all looking incredibly tempting. We ended up trying the Basque cheesecake and the tiramisu maritozzi, and both desserts were excellent. The standout was definitely the maritozzi—the bun was unbelievably soft and fresh, and the flavors were spot on. It alone made the visit worth it. The drinks were good overall. I had the hot chocolate, which was decent, though I do wish it had been served in a proper cup or glass instead of a to-go cup, especially since we were dining in. On the other hand, the Earl Grey latte—with its hint of bergamot—was a pleasant surprise, light, refreshing, and very well done. What really stands out about Birdie is the freshness of the ingredients and the unique twists on classic desserts. It’s a cozy little spot with a lot of character. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their offerings.
