If you want decent home cooking at a reasonable price, then this is a good choice. Old school, basic restaurant with small tables and booths but the food is tasty. I started with the home made beef brisket soup. Really flavourful and full of delicious root vegetables. What Prabha Dar doesn't like about Big R:
Is downhill over the last little, while, we have ordered takeout, the last 3 times the fish was far overhauled to the point as the fish burned in the dough and very dry, we even mentioned, before ordering the last time that... we didn't want to overcook fish, but if we got it, it was the worse of the last 3 visits, so we won't return as the city better places in View all feedback.
My wife and I often enjoy a Sunday dinner after the church. The food is delicious! Our menu item is the club sandwich, usually with frits. Last time we tried their perpetrators and they're better than Mary Brown's! And we love the atmosphere and the service! Top Notch!
My parents are in town from the west coast for medical appointments, they died for a good bowl of soup and a sandwich; So we went to the Big R. They loved everything from the soup, right up to the cheesecake my stepmother sneaked on the way out of the door. Our server was such a beautiful lady, with an amazing sense of humor and the most contagious smile. Thanks for the great scarf and the stellar service!
Had 3pc Wing Fries Dressing Gravy.. And Roast beef dinner. Good home kitchen.. And great selection home made deserts. You can also buy from the bakery section. Baked by the owner.
Great service. Clean place. Get a lot of potato (wedges or fries) with the fish. Seemed a bit overdone but still tasty.
Love their food. And the portions are always on the larger side. I could easily share with my 8 year old but she's at thr age now where she wants to order her own meal. when we ordered it for delivery, all the food came except my 8 year Olds cheeseburger. If it was something belonged to me, her dad or even My 1 year old I wouldn't care. I will see when I called they were absolutely FANTASTIC somehow it was written on NY order but I wasn't charged for it so that's where the fix up was. The lady had a delivery driver bring me my daughter's burger asap (still hot no charge for the delivery and didn't charge me for the burger even though she hadn't charged me for it initially. I wouldn't recommend this place enough. Eating in there is just às great. The employees are the sweetest. My 8 year old is so picky but loves their cheeseburgers ànd pouting. My 1 year old loves their chicken strips and fries she js obsessed with their fries most of the time ,
