We ended the night at Diddles. Chef Darrell of Diddles has a bistro type restaurant You are never disappointed! Dessert was strawberry cheesecake OMG !! The strawberries were of course local He did something different with the bottom layer that made the entire dessert work I don't like a graham crumb bottom but this changed my mind It wasn't just a bottom holding the cheesecake it was actually part of the cheesecake both in texture and taste It was the perfect bite of sauce cake and finish It was the perfect ending to our evening ! Me being me I of course badgered the chef ! Can't help it and as I say it is an addiction or an obsession Whatever it is I just can't help it! Good news was my husband was not with me so the poor man was not embarrassed! So I did learn one thing was he did not precook the crust it was baked with the cake explaining I guess why it all worked as one There is a taste I haven't figured out yet but don't worry he didn't kick me out of the kitchen so I will find out more when I return next week with my husband and before you ask of course I am not going to warn him he won't go !!! So chef until we meet again awesome job according to this little bit obsessed fan! Seriously try the cheesecake no need to mention my name it wouldn't help except to make the chef nervous lol !

We were not disappointed by the coffee and the huge delicious desserts. Unfortunately we were not there for lunch as it looked very good. Sandwiches being served were huge. We took out some homemade bread which was heavenly for our picnic.

The blue and white checkered tabl... read more I left the cafe feeling sorry for those who were unaware of the delicious food waiting for them at Diddle's across the street. The blue and white checkered tablecloths and clean windows set a charming scene. I ordered the half chicken sandwich with a side of spinach salad, while my partner had the ham and cheese with seafood chowder. Both dishes were excellent, with fresh bread and the best chowder we've had on the island. We couldn't resist taking home four orders of chowder, a loaf of whole wheat bread, and some cinnamon buns, which made for a heavenly breakfast. It's no surprise that Diddle's is thriving - their food speaks for itself.
