I live in Squamish and only go to the Bean Cafe if I have forgotten to buy my coffee at the original Bean in West Vancouver. It's bee four years now that we stop there about four times a year. I'm really sorry to say that the staff is just totally inept. The scale for weighing the coffee seems to confound everyone. This last time, the girl must have set it for a kilo instead of a pound of coffee. The bin was absolutely mounded with coffee and she struggled to try and put it all in a one pound bag. It was just silly watching her do it. She asked for help and the person who did assist ended up overfilling the bag and then taped it shut. She kind of avoided our eye contact as she put the rest of the coffee back in the bin, as though she thought we had paid for it and she was just slipping it back. We cringe when we have to go in there but they do have the best freshest beans in Squamish. Which is no credit to them but to their head office in North Vancouver. They are the ones doing the good job. Really guys, get on some serious staff training.

The baristas are very friendly and serve a good coffee. For people who need or want gluten free, they offer goodies that aren't too sweet but are gluten free. Occasionally they also have very good Spelt scones for those of us who just can't tolerate modern wheat.
