Subway - Springfield
Subway
Description
At this Subway location, patrons encounter a mix of experiences. While the restaurant boasts a clean, modern environment with fresh offerings and efficient service, notable inconsistencies in staff demeanor can detract from the overall appeal. Some employees demonstrate a lack of enthusiasm and attentiveness, making customers feel undervalued. While one staff member shines with exemplary service, another has repeatedly left diners frustrated and ignored. Despite the cleanliness and quality of the food, higher prices and uneven service prompt mixed feelings, leaving many customers hesitant about their return visits. Dining here may depend heavily on who is behind the counter.

I arrived at this restaurant two hours before closing, but after waiting several minutes for someone to take my order, no one came to assist me. The door was open, the lights were on, and the food was ready, yet the register and the rest of the establishment appeared to be completely unattended. After a while of waiting, I chose to leave since there was no one around.
The standout feature of this Subway restaurant is definitely the bag of chips. However, the staff seems to have a misunderstanding of what "toasted" means, as they took the cheese off a sandwich that was supposed to come with it. Moreover, the prices here are noticeably higher compared to other locations.
Overall, it’s a typical Subway with sandwiches similar to those you'd find in a city like Atlanta. This location is relatively new and kept in good condition. The staff may not be very lively, but occasionally someone is friendly and smiling. They’re efficient and fast, and the food is fresh. Since it’s conveniently close to my home, this is my go-to place whenever I’m in the mood for Subway.
We arrived at Subway around 9:45 PM, close to closing time. The employee working was a shorter woman with dark hair and a tattoo of lips on the side of her neck, just to give some description. When we walked in, she gave us a dirty look and didn’t acknowledge us at all—no greeting, no interaction. I said, “Hey, how are you?” but she didn’t respond. We went to the counter to order, and she still ignored us, busy counting the cash drawer for the end of her shift. After about five minutes, she finally finished, let out a sigh as if we were an inconvenience, and then walked to the back. As a business owner myself, I would never allow my employees to treat customers that way. If this location is locally owned, I would be ashamed of such poor customer service. I don’t plan on returning to this Subway and am even considering contacting corporate to express my concerns. I hope this review helps others decide whether to eat here.
