Sbc's The Cellar - Springfield
Sbc's The Cellar
Description
Downtown hotspot blends lively live music, creative cocktails and standout food with a welcoming, energetic crowd. Friendly, attentive staff and efficient service keep jam nights flowing, with a dance floor, outdoor smoking area, and self-serve counter that also delivers plates. Expect loud, club-like acoustics and limited seating—standing-room vibe—and a $10 cover that some patrons may balk at. Occasional service lapses and heavy drums can overwhelm; otherwise it's a fun, music-first venue for evenings out and live-band fans.

A cover charge is a sure way to keep me from visiting a place, and theirs was $10. The atmosphere was nice, the band was good, and while the drinks were a bit pricey, they were enjoyable. However, it's important to mention that they only offer their own products. If you’re looking for a PRB or Budweiser, you won’t find it here. SBC does have some great beers, and I highly recommend them, but I can get those at the restaurant next door. If I'm going out for the night, I’d rather hit up one of the other bars downtown—especially one that I can enter for free. In fact, three friends of mine backed out before we even got inside just to avoid that $10 charge. If I'm going to spend money, I’d rather it be on more drinks with my friends rather than an unnecessary fee at the door.
This bar only offers standing room, with very little seating available at the back. It reminded me of bars I've visited in LA, where you're left standing all night and the music is so loud that it’s hard to even catch your breath. I wouldn’t recommend it.
The customer service was 10 stars. It’s not often you can feel the employees serving you are happy to be doing their job, and it says a lot about how great this place is! The music and drinks were also great. I had a fantastic experience.
The entertainment, food, and dancing is all A+. The only problem was an employee asked if we wanted anything else. We placed an order an never received it so we just left after waiting 45 minutes and watching the bartender do nothing .
