I dined as part of a group of 12, and while the menu was pre-set, there were plenty of diverse options to choose from. The crab cake was delightful, and the steak was cooked to perfection. For dessert, the chocolate cake was absolutely wonderful. However, the highlight of the evening was our waiter. He was incredibly efficient and attentive—no one had to ask for anything, yet he managed to maintain a perfect balance... View all feedback.

We have been Max customers since the first Max decades ago south of downtown Hartford. The Springfield branch has always been good, but now always great. My wife and I had a reason to celebrate tonight, and it being a Monday, the options were limited. Our main courses at the Tavern were splendid (Scallops and a Fish Stew). The new summer wine list also had a lot going for it. Desserts tend to be mega calorie affairs, but my lady enjoyed hers. Service is uniformly professional, but the odds of you seeing your server a month or two down the road is unlikely. Still, it is the place we take out of towners, and ourselves, when we don't want to experiment-just know we are going to have a fine meal.
Real good food with very generous portions. Great place to eat after visiting the Basketball Hall Of Fame. Burgers are juicy and well prepared. The pork cutlet sandwich is huge, as are the fish chips and chicken caprese sandwiches. We couldn’t finish our meals. The garlic aioli dipping sauce is excellent as well. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
This was the first place we tried while in town for Amherst College graduation. The food was pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised that everything was fresh and tasty. We tried the Crispy Calamari and the interesting Truffle Mac and Cheese Bites. The honey drizzle on the Mac and Cheese Bites was the best dish we had while the Calamari was full of flavor. The burgers were just burgers and the salmon salad was okay but the appetizers are worth a visit.
After having a fantastic visit to the Basketball Hall of Fame, we needed some sustenance. We had heard very good things about this place, which is in the same building fortunately. We were able to sit outside-first time this season. It was pleasant but trains going by were a little distraction. Howver, our server was fantastic-knowledgeable, pleasant, efficient. Kitchen was a little slow but thats the norm almost everywhere these days. Hubby had a perfectly rare cooked burger and I had a delicious croque monsieur sandwich-fancy ham/cheese grilled to perfection. We also both had the house beer at the recommendation of our server-spot on.
