Martha's Vineyard - Springfield
Martha's Vineyard
Description
Martha’s is a lively, budget-friendly LGBTQ+ bar in downtown Springfield famed for energetic drag shows, cheap drinks and an eclectic, upbeat crowd. Multiple bars, an outdoor deck and a small dance stage keep the nights buzzing, with attentive bartenders earning praise. Recurring complaints include dirty, poorly maintained unisex bathrooms, a dated interior, and a cramped/raised dance floor. Ideal for college nights, groups and tourists seeking a fun, alternative evening; less appealing for those wanting modern comforts or spotless facilities.

The service feels unwelcoming, which is surprising given that, as a pansexual man, I should feel accepted there. Although I've never tried the food, I wouldn't trust it from such a place. If my drinks aren’t safe, I certainly won’t eat there either. Until they address these issues, I'd feel safer at a country bar, despite the fact that people there might not accept my sexual orientation. If I could give them zero stars, I definitely would.
I had such an interesting and fun experience at this restaurant! I wasn't sure what to expect, especially since I was a bit tired of hearing all the buzz about drag shows, but I decided to give it a try. It turned out to be an absolute blast! The drinks were delicious, and everyone was really friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.
I had my first experience at the restaurant last night, and it was a blast! I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I thoroughly enjoyed everything—from the drinks to the performance and the lively crowd. Unfortunately, I'm moving soon, but I definitely want to visit one more time!
Well aren 't you just a little bucket of sass. My first (and only, thus far) gay bar experience in Springfield, left me so satisfied that I had to search no more. A mix of the amateur NYC drag scene with a West Hollywood gay/ straight ratio that makes it safe for the curious, served with a splash of Springfield charm made me instantly fall wig over heels. I 've yet to make it back on the weekend to see if it 's busier, but it was livelier than I expected on a weeknight. Plus, it gave me a chance to get to know the adorable shot boy Jordan wandering the crowds with $1 shots that night while waiting for the drag show. Unisex bathroom, so sitters beware your shoes, and standers be aware of your aim.
