I ordered two pieces of chicken, three shrimp, and two hush puppies, and my total came to $9.77. While I understand prices have gone up, this felt excessive. For that price and portion size, I might as well have gone to Red Lobster. On top of being overpriced, the food was extremely greasy. I used to visit Long John Silver's regularly and never experienced anything this oily before. I won’t be coming back—I just can’t justify the cost. Goodbye.
I’m a big fan of fish, and I especially love the batter and spices at Long John Silver's. Since I don’t get to visit often, I always look forward to checking out their menu. Unfortunately, during my last visit, the staff didn’t seem very friendly or welcoming, which was a letdown. We finished our meal and left, but it might be some time before I return. There are other places in Springfield where I can find options to satisfy my fish cravings.
I regret choosing to eat here. The service was lackluster and the restaurant was untidy. The food was disappointing—overly greasy with shrimp that tasted stale. The fries were mediocre, and the fish was inconsistent, with some pieces overcooked and others undercooked. I suggest going elsewhere; this spot is not worth your time.
I used to love coming to this restaurant, but it has been many years since my last visit. The fish had more breading than actual fish, with very little fish inside. The shrimp was decent, but the hush puppies were very good. Most of the food was over fried. My two-piece meal looked more like two tablespoons of fish. The sides of cole slaw and corn also seemed very small. I am not sure if I will return to this restaurant in the future.
