The pla... read more Went to see Lincoln's tomb and decided to stop by the pizza place we passed coming into town. I'm super glad we did! The pepperoni pizza was grrrrrreat! The place is super cool. And the 2 workers were super friendly and great service.

To be honest, I was very disappointed. All around not good from the moment I walked in, and I felt it was personal. The owner was brash and appeared annoyed at my presence and the food was just not yummy. Two things were enjoyed. The fountain Coke was like, perfect...and the vintage 80s Italian parlor decor was impressive in durability and kitchy fun looks.

The same location, the same family, and the same fantastic ambiance and service persist through the years. They serve some of the best pizza in all of Illinois, featuring classic New York-style slices. Come to enjoy, savor, and truly appreciate the experience. I recognized the same gentleman at the counter that I saw a decade ago, and I could hear Nona in the kitchen, speaking Italian while working with the dough. This restaurant is the real deal, often overlooked amid all the soulless corporate chains out there.

We tried the pepperoni pizza, which arrived piping hot! The crust was excellent, perfectly cooked without overdoing the cheese.
