I ordered an asso... read more During our travels, I enjoy discovering the local go-to spot for donuts, and it was evident that Mel O Cream is the top choice in Springfield. I ordered an assorted dozen to sample a variety of flavors. The glazed yeast donut was fantastic—just the right amount of sweetness and a perfect texture. However, my favorite was definitely the Old Fashioned (also known as the sour cream donut). I absolutely loved it!

I might have gone after the morning rush because there wasn?t much of a selection to choose from. I think I had a long John and I felt no way about it. Would I go again, no. Would eat them if someone else brought them, yes. Though there wasn?t much to choose from the lady at behind the counter was nice. We had a bit of small talk while Iordered. Getting to the location was a little weird. I think I had to turn on a back street or something. Like I said, not complaints, no compliments. It must be a local thing.

They had already taken our order over the phone to make sure we got... read more The ladies at Mel-o-cream Donuts were incredibly kind, greeting us as soon as we walked in. They had already taken our order over the phone to make sure we got the donuts we wanted. The hot chocolates they made were delicious and my kids absolutely loved them! We will definitely be returning. One of the employees even gave my daughter a stuffed animal, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The staff is very warm and friendly—perfect if you want to sit down and enjoy your treats!
