As a single, older woman, I sometimes get treated less than stellar. But I have to say, the server (female) was fantastic, and even took the time to have a conversation with me. The food (shrimp DeJonge, NE clam chowder, green beans, salad, and bread were all delicious. The atmosphere was welcoming. I will definitely return to Chesapeake the next time I am in Springfield. What Sheryl Gregory doesn't like about Chesapeake Seafood House:
Reasonable pricing, but it adds up quickly. Would have liked a vegetable choice with dinner. Included side salad was unremarkable, just chopped head lettuce with a sprinkle of grated cheddar cheese. Food was delicious! Early dinner menu was perfect, just the right amount of food! Highly recommend, great atmosphere too.
Anthony was best waiter ever. Great nenu recommendations and personal service. French onion soup was exceptional. Loved the Shrimp Degonghe.
One of the best restaurants that I have eaten at. The prices are reasonable and they were able to accommodate our party of over 20. We really enjoyed the experience with Chesapeake Seaford House in Springfield, IL. Will go again.

We celebrated our 58th Anniversary and must say everything we had was excellent!! Shrimp cocktail and Filet was the best ever! Our waitress was very efficient and professional; she made our experience delightful.. I don't remember her name but she had hurt her hand and had a brace on it. Thanks for a nice evening!! We'll be back..wonder how we've missed this place !!
