I o... read more I 'm so glad I took the time to do a little yelping before my first trip to Springfield, IL. Brunchfield Cafe is a gem with a homey feel and delicious food. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which was very flavorful and dynamic. The andouille sausage and focaccia were add-ons, but I highly recommend going for the full experience with this dish. The focaccia was so fresh and fluffy! I added lots of the local hot sauce, Robanero Sweet n ' Hot, to add another dimension. So tasty! The servers were really friendly and I felt like I would be a regular if I lived in the area.

The walleye sandwich was both delicious and extremely generous in portions. The shrimp and grits, gumbo, mahi mahi,and shrimp po boy are all deserving of praise. The bread pudding was a surprise. I wasn 't expecting chocolate, but it wasdelicious and I think that might have been hand made ice cream it was served with. If not, it was still very well sourced. Theonline ordering and drive thru pickup are extremely easy to use and even come with texts to let you know when it 's ready. Ihaven 't tried dine-in service yet, but based on everything else I think it 's worth a try if that 's what you prefer. They areopen limited hours as a brunch place, so check first. I spent too long thinking, it 's always closed.

The staff is always attentive and kind. You could go there two times and they'll recognize you. It is so obvious that they care about your experience and satisfaction! The cooks do an excellent job cooking your meal to perfection.Have never been disappointed by them ever! Everytime I go I always try to tip the cooks. I can't imagine cooking in thekitchen all day and still give out excellence with every dish. I don't just recommend; I highly recommend this place.
