Was Anonym at Roxy Screen a mag?
After reading the other reviews I came here with low expectations but I was pleasantly surprised. I'll start with the negatives the place was a bit grotty and it was definitely under staffed which made the staff a bit stressed and slow. What Anonym dislikes about Roxy Screen:
I went to Roxy on a Wednesday night to enjoy their dine and film night. I really liked the concept of the restaurant and they had a good deal. However, there was limited staff and they seemed unsure about the restaurant's different offers. The food was decent, but it took a long time (at least 30 minutes) to be served. When guests arrived at 6:00 pm to catch the movie, they didn't receive their food until 6:30 pm, ma... View all feedback.

Fantastic cult cinema (and occasional sports) venue, offering either sofas, wine table or booths, depending how early you turn up. Since a velvet curtain cannot be soundproofed, an occasional drunken reveller at the bar can be an annoyance. Nevertheless, alongside the BFI and the Prince Charles cinema, this is one of London's essential sources of cult cinema.
Lovely food (steak cooked to perfection with a sweet drizzle to dip the awesome twice fried chips in , great venue (classy vibe , fab movie (they only choose the best . Love the loos! the Morganico murals (especially the Sky surfer , classic movie posters and a wierd optical illusion where the girls have your face on their bodies! Check it out! Well worth the £12. The service was especially attentive too ;

Good points: decent enough pub food, nice candlelit atmosphere, very hardworking and approachable staff, film and sound quality tolerable, and using a voucher £12 per person) amazingly good value for a film and a three course meal. Bad points: as mentioned by others, stale food smell on entering, tatty furniture I sunk into a very uncomfortable hole in our sofa), and quite high drinks prices. Overall, for me the good outweighs the bad, and with a little improvement mend the furniture, employ
Personally loved the concept to put on a movie whilst guests lounge on sofas and tuck into a proper 3-course meal simultaneously! Food can be a bit messy to eat when you can't really see it, but that was really half the fun for me! Staff were attentive but not intrusive as they swiped away dirty plates and replaced it with fresh courses, and the curtain divide made it easy for people to duck in and out for toilet breaks.

Poor quality of food, poor service and poor attitude. Arrived early and waited 20 mins but no one was there. then went for a coffee and came back and finally someone showed up.Food was served, nachos were burnt and very oily. Chicken burgers were burnt and chips were extremely dry. Dessert was no better either. Atmosphere and décor were outdated as was hygiene and toilets. We hardly touched our food and the manager didn't offer anything to replace our meal and said, that nobody else had complained......
Having had a great time here once before with a nice meal while watching a film had been looking for an opportunity to return with other friends. Big mistake, finally managed to get barmaids attention after standing at the bar patiently waiting while she chatted to a group of young men, after about 15 mins we asked if we were invisible. It took another 15 mins to actually get a drink as for food we ended up giving up and telling the barmaid that we would go somewhere else her reply was ok. Worst case of customer service I have seen in a long time.
I am a strong believer in not believing all that you read on review websites. This place is atrocious and I didn't even eat or manage to do anything here. Why I hear you ask. Because it was closed! No one turned up for our brunch booking! I rung the venue several times and emailed. Once I went back to the venue later after having to salvage what was my friends 29th birthday I got a flimsy apology and just told the girl isn't turn up and they would make it up to my friend. Bearing in mind our reservation was at 1pm and I got an email response at 4:30! When I went there the venue was dated, dirty and rotten. It was a blessing in disguise. Avoid at all costs!!
My friend and I visited Roxy's after I bought a Wowcher deal for Brunch and bottomless prosecco for 90 minutes. I was a little sceptical after reading some of the reviews on here but we already had paid so thought it was worth a shot. On first appearances the reviews are spot on, it was unclear we had arrived at the venue as there was a large wooden board outside blocking most of the entrance, there was no one around and everything did look quite worn and weathered. The lady who served us was so lovely, happy and friendly. She gave us a bottle of prosecco to get us started. My friend and I had 2 courses of brunch including Roxy's breakfast, porridge, pancakes and eggs benedict. We were pleasantly surprised and everything arrived promptly, everything was clean and the food was very tasty. We ended up spending most of the afternoon there, washing down a further 2 bottles of prosecco and well exceeding our 90 minute visit, we even ordered creme brûlée on top of our deal to round the afternoon off! Only 2 other customers came and went during the afternoon which we did not mind, it meant we got to have a good ol goss and catch up in peace! Those customers had the Sunday roast which looked very good too. This place does need a good refurb and it has so much potential, so it's a bit of a shame everything is rather tattered. Toilets were also clean, always an important factor on the general cleanliness of a place I find. All in all, we had a lovely and rather merry afternoon, and we would definitely return! Keeping my eye out for more excellent Roxy Wowcher deals!!
Decided after reading reviews here to book a three course meal and cinema night...arrived early and was shocked as to how old and tired the place looked...reminded us of an old nightclub...walked through bar area to the back where it was old chesterfield sofas set up with table to watch film and eat food..ordered food...tempura prawns for starters was good but maybe a larger portion..main meal choice was burgers...they arrived but not nice and we both left most of the burger as didnt look or taste nice..deserts where creme brulee and lemon pot..both not great but edible..on the whole the concept is a great idea, just this is very poorly done and a let down food wise....

We had a fantastic experience at Roxy Bar, which offered great value for money. It's the perfect option for those on a tight budget. The team consisted of both experienced and younger members, who all seemed to enjoy themselves. The internet-connected screen allowed us to choose songs from various countries, not just English ones. The staff, including Maz, Taz, and Rimpey, were very accommodating and friendly. Thank you, Roxy, for a memorable evening! x
Maz was lovely and when our order was wrong let us have three meals on the house instead of two! The restaurant was not yet refurbished, so a little dark, but Maz did everything he could to make us feel comfortable and went above and beyond his duties, nothing wrong with the food when it arrived but wasn't excellent dining. Once refurbished would be a lovely place for brunch.
My dining experience included a two-course meal and Prosecco. The food was excellent, and the staff, particularly Maz, were very helpful. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

What a fantastic concept for a restaurant! We were able to enjoy dinner and a movie here at a steal of £12 through Wowcher. The atmosphere was great with plenty of cozy couches to relax on. We had appetizers, main courses, and dessert while watching "Dirty Dancing". The pear salad was delicious and very filling. The hamburger could have used more sauce as the patty was a bit dry, but it came with a generous serving of chips. The hot chocolate brownie was a definite winner. Watching a movie while dining is a unique experience that is hard to beat. We are looking forward to coming back for a football game finale or another classic movie.

When guests arrived at 6:00 pm to catch the movie, they didn't receive their food until 6:30 pm, making it hard to finish before the movie started. Once the film began, there was a lot of chaos with waiters coming in and out and noise from the street. I would suggest that the restaurant staff keep the front door closed during the movie screening.
