Really attentive, maz could not accommodate more, unlimited prosecco. Lost bracelet, maz went out of his way to find it, he made our day. Food excellent! Will definitely come back! Made us feel really welcome! What more could you ask for! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Roxy Screen:
I went to Roxy on a Wednesday night to enjoy their dine and film night. I really liked the concept of the restaurant and they had a good deal. However, there was limited staff and they seemed unsure about the restaurant's different offers. The food was decent, but it took a long time (at least 30 minutes) to be served. When guests arrived at 6:00 pm to catch the movie, they didn't receive their food until 6:30 pm, ma... View all feedback.
There are some bad reviews here, which i can see why. The first impression when you walk in isn't great, which is mostly due to the decoration. I understand that football is screened there and some of that is evident from the quality of decoration. The service could be better. When we first went in the staff took a few mintues to acknowledge us (though it wasnt busy). We chose a table but then moved as it could of done with a wipe over. There were no issues when it came to the food, it was very nice, but i get why some are dubious. There was a good atmosphere and we were able to relax and enjoy the film. The concept of the place is great and could be really good. If they can give the place a repaint that would make a big difference. I feel they need to chose who they their target auidence is and it would attract a clientele that would be better suited for them. I wouldn't go back as it currently is but if they were to improve then I would. Great concept just not executed that well.
Terrible experience, terrible customer service. They confirmed a movie the day before then we got there and they said the movie was cancelled because they were never actually planning to play it. They just scam people on wowcher with the hope theyll keep the money and stay for the meal but NO we got a full refund. Very sad establishment
So there are a lot of bad reviews on here, but it seems like people were expecting the Ritz! Its a prosecco brunch for £14.50 a person (wowcher) so of course it isn't! Yes it's grotty, but I've been twice now and the staff are lovely (shout out to Maz and Rimpee) and the breakfast is good and big! Perfect to soak up the prosecco, which they really do just keep on bringing in bottles! There was a very awkward and rude hen party in when we were there and Rimpee handled them very well, I wouldn't have been able to keep smiling when being clicked at. Next time this comes on Wowcher I'm going to go again, as it really is good value, and after the prosecco who cares about grottiness! The only thing I'd say is that the TV shouldn't be showing football, a nice film or even music videos would be better.
My sister and I had booked a bottomless prosecco brunch through Wowcher for Mother 's Day. Only after paying for the deal did we look at reviews on Trip Advisor, and were horrified to find mostly bad reviews about this place! I booked the prosecco brunch a few weeks ago and received a four word response to say it was booked in, which made me very suspicious. I rang on Tuesday to confirm our booking, and eventually the woman on the phone found our booking and confirmed it, but she could have easily only just put it in the diary!! We turned up at 10:45am, 15 minutes before we had booked the brunch, and found that it was not open. There didn 't seem to be any sign of life, which we thought was weird considering we had only 15 minutes until our booked time. At 11am, a male member of staff came and opened up the building, and didn 't seem to be aware that we had booked in for the prosecco brunch. Two other women also turned up at 11am, who had also booked in for brunch, and he didn 't seem to be aware of their booking either. The man said that we would have to wait 15 minutes for the chef to prepare, and we asked if we could take a seat inside and wait. Upon going in to the building, the facilities did not look hygienic and the place was extremely tatty not what you would want for a prosecco brunch celebrating Mother 's Day! As a group we decided that we did not even want to attempt to eat at this venue, for fear of becoming ill, so we left I am a university student with exams in a few weeks and cannot afford to be ill! As we stood outside to decide where we wanted to eat, the man came out and said that the wait would be 30 minutes!! For brunch instead we decided to eat at 'The Wheatsheaf ' which I would highly recommend, and we also treated ourselves to a doughnut from Borough Market. What was a bad day to start out with became much better! I would not advise anyone to even attempt to go to Roxy Bar and Screen it is a horrific venue!! This establishment should definitely be reviewed by the Food Standards Agency, it is that terrible.
We were given a last minute meal and film voucher and thought why not....? As it turns out lots of reasons, this is the kind of place that could give dive bars a bad name filthy upstairs, grumpy staff, grotty furnishings, weird musty smell, flooded loos downstairs, rumours of rodents (maybe they drowned because we didn't see any). Food was edible, beer was expensive, film (Bad Moms) was actually quite good and despite everything we had fun Not likely to return.
