Was SteveP at Platform Tavern a mag?
The pub was fantastic with great food and music. We reserved a table for dinner that happened to be right next to the live music. The staff happily accommodated us and moved us to a different table where we could still enjoy the music. The food was delicious, and we had a great time in a wonderful atmosphere. View all feedback.
What Edwin Lauer dislikes about Platform Tavern:
Very disappointing. My wife and I have been here a few times and eaten here on one occasion before. On this occasion, the room was cold, a number of items were unavailable and the elderly newzealanders who accompanied us were upset by the loud drunken swearing from the next table. The fish chips one of us had was a greasy disaster and the ‘roast’ was tepid. A shame, we used to like the place. View all feedback.
Had a wonderful dining experience at Platform Tavern. This was my second visit and the service was very prompt and efficient.
We visited the restaurant during a live music event featuring a Blues Jam. The music was fantastic and the atmosphere was welcoming. The food was also good, especially considering the type of venue.

Proper pub and proper publican. I wandered in on Wednesday 19th March after walking the English Camino over 3 days and was knackered. Given a genuine welcome by Stewart and he stamped my passport and produced a certificate in spite of being behind the bar on his own. After a G&T and great pizza I forgot all my aching bits. I live 70 miles away, but not many genuine pubs left in Weymouth, so I'd definitely go back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £10–20 Recommended dishes: Charcuterie
