Contribute FeedbackThe pub offers a cozy atmosphere in an old building with friendly staff. While the food was average, there were some cons to consider, including privacy issues in the rooms. However, the overall experience was positive. The pub provides a warm welcome, delicious food, and efficient service, making it a great spot for a meal with friends or family. With a welcoming interior, accommodating staff, and delicious food, this pub is a must-visit for those looking for a warm, inviting dining experience in a quaint setting.
We planned to have breakfast elsewhere on Monday, which turned out to be fortunate as the pub was closed until 12:00, a fact we were not informed of. Additionally, we were not warned that the pub closed at 17:00 on Sunday evening. Luckily, there was separate access to the rooms behind the pub, but it would have been appreciated if we had been informed of the closure times. We intended to provide feedback upon checkout on Monday morning, but the pub was closed, and there was no staff in sight. Regarding the room, we experienced a persistent clicking and tapping noise coming from the bathroom pipes which kept us awake. It was frustrating that we could not address these issues with management. When we reached out via Messenger to share our experience, we received a generic automated response, which was unhelpful. As of today, Thursday 12th October, we have yet to receive a proper reply. The pub appears lovely inside and out, but the lack of accessibility and interest from the owners/management is apparent. This establishment is poorly run, and we do not recommend it to others. It seems likely that it will go out of business soon.
This charming pub is dog-friendly, conveniently located with ample parking. Unfortunately, our experience for Sunday lunch was disappointing. The beef seemed to be pre-cooked and sliced, making each piece identical and too thick to cut easily. The roast potatoes were not up to par, and the vegetables arrived late. The mashed swede was unrecognizable and the starter soup was not to anyone's taste. Despite the friendly staff, the restaurant falls short of its potential. The recommendation is to offer a high-quality homemade Sunday lunch with locally sourced ingredients. Additionally, offering a variety of alcohol-free spirits could attract more customers.
The restaurant provided a lovely welcome and was dog friendly. The staff were very informative about local eateries, although the pub was closed on Sunday evenings. The room was nice and modern with a comfy bed and a huge walk-in shower. However, there were some cons to consider. The room faced a seated courtyard area with no blinds at the window, affecting privacy. Additionally, the walls were very thin, making it easy to hear noise from neighboring rooms. There were not enough plug sockets near the mirror and TV area, and there was limited storage space with only a hanging rail provided. Be cautious of the low-hanging rail near the bed. Finally, there were no mattress or pillow protectors in use.
Great quiet location, but around 20 minutes from the main city centre. Room was well equipped and comfortable. All staff were fantastic, special mention to James, Sara, Libby, Katie and Cydney!
Visiting Oxford and went for meal on a Friday evening with family and our dog , From the minute we arrived we were looked after by Sara and James. Their service and friendliness was exceptional. Food was served quickly and was very good. We will he back next time we are in Oxford
