Contribute FeedbackThe Queens Head, a charming pub and hotel, boasts clean accommodations and a welcoming atmosphere, ideal for travelers and their furry companions. While the friendly staff enhances the experience, the dining options provoke mixed feelings. The overall food quality is inconsistent, with some dishes receiving praise while others fall short, such as a mediocre Thai curry and lackluster roasts. Guests enjoy a cozy ambiance and beautiful views, yet some report peculiar nighttime occurrences. Despite its quirks, the establishment's friendly service and pleasant environment keep it an appealing choice for a casual getaway.
We booked a table online and paid £5 per head to reserve the table for Sat eve. Unfortunately, due to a family member feeling unwell, we had to cancel, which we did, a full 36hrs before the reservation on the Friday morning, before leaving for Windermere, so that they could at least fill that table if needed. We rang the Queens Head to say sorry for cancelling the evening reservation but we 'd like to eat earlier and could we rebook for lunchtime instead The lady, should 've got her name, said 'of course, what time ' we said about 1pm and would the £20 already paid reserve the table? The lady replied 'No! ' that money is now gone as we 'd cancelled the later reservation!!! I beg your pardon, so we 're still coming, just earlier in the day and this £20 won 't be refunded against this earlier reservation we asked? No, you 've cancelled, you 've lost your £20 now. The lady then said, so, what time do you want to book for lunch? To that we replied, are you kidding? You 've literally taken £20 from us for nothing and now you want us to waste even more of our hard earned money with you? No thank you, we 'll take our money elsewhere in Windermere. We could understand if we were cancelling altogether but we weren 't, just eating earlier on the same day!!! What an absolutely disgraceful policy the Queens Head has when you pay a deposit online and then need to amend it to a more suitable time. Shame on you Queens Head. At least Dick Turpin had the audacity to wear a mask when he robbed people. Do not book online folks as they will keep your money even when you want to change your reservation. In fact, if that 's what they are like before you 've even set for in the place, heaven help you should you have an issue with the service or food on the day.

Pre booked a table for Sunday lunch with my grandmother and young daughter. After some confusion when we first arrived about where we should be sitting, we were initially sat at lovely table in a side room. Once were were all settled grandmother sat down,...
Great building in a stunning location. Very tastefully decorated. Very welcoming with a decent selection of drinks. Menu fine. Ordered ham sandwich but was rather disappointed
Table given away, party included 91yr old and Type 1 diabetic. No signal to explain our 15min delay. No hospitality or empathy. Disgusting after 2hr drive.
