Recent diners report delays and disorganization, with lengthy waits for service and food. While some praised the friendliness of staff and delicious scones, others found the full English breakfast lacking and poorly prepared. Despite its prime location and potential, the café's limited menu and inconsistent quality have disappointed many. While some guests enjoyed their meals and appreciated attentive service, overall, the establishment has room for improvement to satisfy the expectations of its visitors in this competitive market.
Beautiful coffee and cake. a visit after a beautiful walk in the surroundings is worth definitiw.
Had the full English breakfast, can honestly say what I got was worth the money! the size and taste was perfect, the staff was very attentive and polite, I don't think that a person went without leaving and having a nice day, and it was very busy at the time! 5*
This is the first review of this caffe and when I visited, I found the staff very friendly and helpful, the scones were very tasty as the chocolate brownies were also not too dry.
Went on a rainy day. Food and cake was delicious. Yummy soup with sandwiches. Clean cafe and toilets. Nice staff.
We recently visited the cafe whilst shopping in hawkshead. The cafe was closed when we initially got there and had a sign saying it would reopen at 1.40. Several people walked out not wishing to wait. When 1.40 came the cafe did not open but one member of staff started cleaning the tables/chairs etc. We finally got seated at 1.50. We ordered 2 soup and a child’s baked beans on toast. Other customers followed us in and all received their food before us despite us being the first to order. Our food finally arrived at 2.35! The ‘soup’ was warm and looked like a tin of tomatoes has been blended! The staff were very sullen and disinterested and it was very evident they did not want to be there! In the current economic climate we thought businesses would be appreciative of people’s custom! We shall not be eating there again
