Slightly off the B5285 is the small tea room named Frithy 's . The owner was very friendly and helpful and we ordered freshly cooked jacket spuds with tea and cakes. There is also an outside seating area and space to park bicycles where you can keep...an eye on them. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Frithy's Tea Room:
is that a bit of a loss over the name? I did not see any mention of frithy’s, but that was certainly the place. came with a group of friends and this was especially popular among children. a series of ice, cake and tees (in the quirky glass cup with milk bottle). it would be easy to miss this place that is fucked by the main road without parking to speak. (but there is a lot on the street at the gasthof to go another... View all feedback.
We wanted to finish our weekend in the lakes with a cup of tea and a cake and had heard good things about these tea rooms. we arrive at 15 o'clock and made our way inside. the girl in the entrance threw us an uninterested view. so much to say what they're doing here? I smiled and said we came for a tee (it is a tea room finally! . they said they can sit there and show how a bar area looked. we asked about cake and she said there was no food. her attitude summarized the experience. there were no information, menus or details visible outside the building or in the entrance. we decided to go. we returned to the lakeside hotel, where the greeting was as warm as the lively flame fire and tee as delicious as the cream scoring we enjoyed with it. we recommend frithy 's send the girl that welcomes us to lakeside for some lections in customer service. we will not be back.
We were nearby and tried to visit this restaurant at various times every day, but it was never open. The same thing happened back in 2013.
Popped in on way back from visiting Beatrix Potter's Hill Top. It's a tiny out of the way ta room with just a couple of tables in doors and some outdoor seating. Nice section of cakes nibbles. We just had a cuppa and a...latte. I write this review because the cup of tea was served in clear glass jar with handle and the milk presented in a small clear glass milk bottle that evoked memories of my milk at prep school. It was fun and different and it made me smile. A very large cup of tea for a very thirsty rambler! Coffee was good too but the tea I shall remember for a long time! Seek out this little gem for the biggest cup of tea in the lakes!!
This restaurant is a fantastic find at the end of a walk. They offer a wide variety of delicious food and drinks at reasonable prices, all served with a smile.
Take the Cross Lakes ferry from pier 3 at Bowness or go cheap on the chain ferry, then its a very pleasant 2 mile walk to Frithy's just long enough to stoke up the hunger. There are plenty of signs to guide on the...way. We had soup and a avocado salad bap. Simple food well prepared and keen prices. Two small tables inside and a few in the outside garden. Vegetarian options available. Also locally made preserves to buy. Recommended.
