Monkfield Arms Cambourne

It wasn’t a good start to have someone relieving himself outside the front door. We walked into a very cool reception, half a dozen blokes watching football. Two other people were eating, they didn’t have our reservation (and I’d only phoned a couple of hours...ago), no roasts apparently they’d sold out. Didn’t have a good feel so we walked out. Thank goodness, the Indian restaurant just down the road was perfect. Not a good advert for Marstons.

Me and my friend are not local. We popped in for a nice meal at to which we were told they would not serve us food as it was too busy so they decided to close the kitchen. We decided to sit and have...a drink as not knowing the area we didn’t know what else was local. We didn’t see any food come out whatsoever. Left feeling unhappy and unwelcome. Very disappointed.

Such a lovely place! The staff are so Friendly! Great food! Ordered a lunch special gammon, very tasty! The pints are on point. It’s very clean. Definitely would recommend if your passing.

We went for Christmas dinner but were disappointed. Our starters were served late, after we had to inquire about them. The main course was mediocre, but we couldn't fault the dessert. Overall, it wasn't the experience we were hoping for and we won't be returning next year.

Booked a Boxing Day lunch for the two of us. Once again excellent meal. The was a wonderful atmosphere in the Monkfield with lots of people laughing and enjoying themselves, adults and children alike having a great time. The service was very friendly with the...staff happy to chat with good humour. The meal was on time, important, with a large potions on each course, very important. For the value for money you just cannot go wrong. I would highly recommend the Monkfield for great food and staff alike.
