The Cock - Huntingdonshire

Service was not very good. We arrived and we told the kitchen was running behind, which was fine. But they didn’t offer us any drinks, or even looking at the menu which is why service is 1 star because that had nothing to do with the kitchen. And on top of that some other people came in after us. They got a menu and drinks and their food came before us. But on the plus side the food was actually decent.

We hired a garden pod for an early evening meal as part of our mini moon. We were greeted by Matt who showed us to the pod. The pod was lovely and clean. Candles were lit and the music system was a nice touch. We order scallops and the bakes duck parcel to start. They were lovely. The duck parcel was a generous size but the scallops were to die for! For main we had the sirloin steak and lamb rump. Again, both delicious but the steak was the best my husband has had in years. For dessert we had a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and the Eton mess from the specials board. Both really nice. The service from Matt and Thomas was the best customer service we’ve ever had (including from a Michelin Star establishment! . They were friendly and attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. Couldn’t recommend this place enough definitely worth the money!

Been wanting to go here for a while now. Food well presented, although we thought there could be more choices on the menu. We enjoyed the meal we ordered. Restaurant quiet on the Sunday we visited, unable to order Sunday lunch as had gone past the time slot.

Great choice of beers and very knowledgeable barman. Had a drink in the cosy comfy bar. Then into restaurant side (separate room) and 4 of us enjoyed a fabulous tasty well cooked 3 course.. delicious. Served by lovely friendly staff. Would definitely recommend

This is a lovely pub, with a great menu. We had Sunday lunch, and there was plenty of very nicely cooked beef, the yorkshires were enormous and there was plenty of beautifully cooked veg. The only problem I had was that it was spoiled by being only lukewarm. We hope to revisit sometime during the week when it's less busy.
