Was Matt D at Seabiscuit a mag?
When I heard K.O Pies were planning on closing I was crestfallen. Their delicious Australian-style meat pies were a great addition to East Boston. I was overjoyed to learn they would stay open under a new name, Seabiscuit. I have such a fun, relaxing time when I come here. My wife and I really enjoy sitting at their picnic tables eating a beef stew pie with some fries and a beer during the summer. The staff are the b... View all feedback.

What Michael H dislikes about Seabiscuit:
They sell pies. I was hungry and I ate mine but it was dry as a desert. Possibly freshly made the day before, but not that day. And a spoon of beef gravy over the top could have helped.A bottle of wine was more expensive than expected given that we were really off the beaten track, at the docks. In most restaurants it is cheaper to buy the whole bottle rather than 4 glasses. So we settled for that tiny glass of wine a... View all feedback.

Seabiscuit is permanently closing on 2024/03/14, so I moved it to the top of my to visit list, especially since there are not many Aussie food places in Boston. It has a very nautical and private vibe and thankfully) has its own parking lot. Service was fast and very friendly. Beef Stew Pie $14.50): Expensive for the size but delicious. The inside was all meat. Despite the name, it wasn't a stew in the sense that liquid spilled out when cut, so you could eat it by hand. The meat was tender and had a sweetness to it, which I liked because I was worried it would be too salty. The pie crust was nice and flaky. I probably should have tried this with ketchup, as is the tradition. Lamington $5.95): Larger than I expected. These are prepackaged and stored in the fridge. Eating it cold was refreshing. The inside was a dense sponge cake that I wish had been moister, but I enjoyed it overall. Coconut is the dominant flavor, so if you're not a fan of that, this is not the dessert for you. Overall, this place was worth the trip, so check it out while you still can!

Mind you, I can hardly blame them These are probably the worst pies in Boston I know why nobody cares to take them I should know, I make 'em But good? No, the worst pies in Boston, even that 's polite The worst pies in Boston If you doubt it, take a bite Is that just disgusting? You have to concede it It 's nothing but crusting Here drink this, you 'll need it The worst pies in Boston And no wonder with the price of meat…

I’ve been coming here for a couple years now and it used to be a great spot for fish and chips or meat pies. The quality of the food has started to take a dip over the past year or so. Small portions, high prices, lacking seasoning. It’s really a shame because there’s no other restaurant in eastie like this and we used to love bringing friends and family here. We might stick to grabbing a quick pastry or the occasional sausage roll.

The very best lemon scone I have ever had! Their other baked goods are also really good. Much better than many coffee shops in the area
