Bronwyn pairs an impressive German beer program — flights and imported selections — with a convivial, well‑decorated spot popular for brunches, birthdays and group outings. The menu melds German and Eastern European flavors, delivering standout items (pretzels, spaetzle, bratwurst, schnitzel, fried potatoes, brisket) alongside uneven executions, occasional saltiness and some oddly textured sausages. Service is friendly and accommodating, and the bar buzz keeps regulars coming despite mixed food consistency and occasional sticker shock.
We had the Häxe and a wurst plate and pretzels and spätzle and everything was great!
The restaurant has a great selection of German beers (the Austrian and Polish selection is rather poor) but the food leaves a great deal to be desired. It's a strange, not really authentic mix of German and Eastern European cuisine. For American standards it's an OK place but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wants to try some authentic food from German-speaking countries.
Having grown up in Germany I really miss German food and beer gardens. Bronwen at least gives me a sense of being back there. The food is good and I love the gurken salat and Brezen. Miss, miss, miss real german biergartens.
