A gem in smithfield. only when one moves away from rhode island, one begins to miss the everyday italian we all thought to be self-evident. parente’s is that si... read more A gem in smithfield. only when one moves away from rhode island, one begins to miss the everyday italian we all thought to be self-evident. parente’s is that simple, welcoming restaurant and bar that serves hearty, generous portions of Italian American standards, their calf arm is huge and delicous, and their two lobster specialties are a real bare. do not expect gourmet touchses, but the star attractions are the appetizers and the escapes that are all prepared in the house. the bar area can be a bit silent with sportfans hooting and hollering while their teams play, but the dining room is quite separate and suitable for families.

It's only when you move away from Rhode Island that you start to miss the everyday Italian that we all took for granted. Parente's is that simple, welcoming restaurant and bar which serves hearty, generous portions of Italian-American standards their veal parm is huge and delicous, and their twin lobster specials are a real bargain. Don't expect gourmet touches but the star attractions are the appetizers and the entrees, all prepared in-house. The bar area can get a bit boisterous with sports fans hooting and hollering while watching their teams play, but the dining room is quite separate and suitable for families.
