I had the Gumbo soup, and it was incredible—such amazing flavor! The Portchatrain Pasta was like a poem for the taste buds, and I also enjoyed the Po' boys, though I haven't tasted them elsewhere yet. I will definitely return to this restaurant every time I'm in town!

I had asked t... read more I ordered the blackened shrimp tacos, and they were absolutely divine! The tacos were generously packed with shrimp and topped with a spicy sauce. I had asked the waitress if it was very spicy, and she assured me it wasn’t, but it turned out to be quite spicy for my taste. I finished every bite regardless! The tacos featured purple cabbage instead of regular salad, which I thought could benefit from a bit of marinating to enhance its flavor and soften its texture. Just my two cents. Still, these were the BEST shrimp tacos I've had in Slidell, Louisiana! I also indulged in a drink—usually, I just get water with lemon, but not on this special day! My husband treated me to a sweet tea. Vera’s sweet tea is a masterpiece! It’s perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sugar and enough ice to keep it refreshingly chilled. One sip will certainly make a Southern man smile and a Southern lady blush! I took some photos, as the atmosphere is casual with options for both tables and booths. They w... read more Great food and service today. We had limited time for lunch in order to make our movie time. I called ahead and inquired if I could preorder and dine in. They were accommodating. Dishes ordered: Shrimp poboy and Caesar salad with fried oysters. Only negative is that I didn't care for their Caesar dressing. They were extra generous with the shrimp portion.
