I had asked t... read more I ordered the blackened shrimp tacos, and they were absolutely divine! The tacos were generously packed with shrimp and topped with a spicy sauce. I had asked the waitress if it was very spicy, and she assured me it wasn’t, but it turned out to be quite spicy for my taste. I finished every bite regardless! The tacos featured purple cabbage instead of regular salad, which I thought could benefit from a bit of marinating to enhance its flavor and soften its texture. Just my two cents. Still, these were the BEST shrimp tacos I've had in Slidell, Louisiana! I also indulged in a drink—usually, I just get water with lemon, but not on this special day! My husband treated me to a sweet tea. Vera’s sweet tea is a masterpiece! It’s perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sugar and enough ice to keep it refreshingly chilled. One sip will certainly make a Southern man smile and a Southern lady blush! I took some photos, as the atmosphere is casual with options for both tables and booths. I highly recommend Vera's Seafood in Slidell, Louisiana! #verasseafood #veras
