Welcome to Back Door Quilts, where we have proudly been serving the quilting community for 51 years and counting! Our store is a treasure trove for fabric enthusiasts, boasting thousands of fabrics from renowned brands such as Moda, Henry Glass, Timeless Treasures, Kaufman, Free Spirit, and Tim Holtz, along with an impressive selection of over 1000 batiks. We also offer a rich variety of patterns and books, ensuring that you find the inspiration you need for your next project. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Our current hours are Monday from 10 AM to 9 PM, and Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM to 3 PM. We are also open from 1 PM to 4 PM on the first and third Sundays of each month. Please note that we will be closed on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Want to keep in the loop? This spot in Sitka is among the top places to enjoy delicious espresso and baked goods. Although it may be tucked away behind other buildings, it is definitely worth seeking out!

In Sitka visiting friends...they say, Backdoor Cafe is the best coffee shop in town, so we check it out and end up stopping by every morning. Great coffee. Excellent scones. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.

This is literally a cafe at the “back door” of a book shop. And it’s a hidden gem!You can access it via the back of the building, or through the bookstore.The staff are all so super friendly and nice (just like all the people we met in Sitka) and the cafe is cute and has a lovely cosy feel.Lots of indoor seating and there are a few outdoor tables/ chairs too.The coffee was excellent- they definitely know all about their beans and how to make great espresso.The cabinet is packed with so many delicious sweet treats, and freshly made doorstopper sandwiches too- so make sure you come with a big appetite!A great spot for coffee or lunch.
