Searocco - Siteia

Different style of Greek food than most of the touristy Tavernas. Really good food and it could only be closer to the ocean if the tables were in the water. Friendly service, fair prices and just an all around great experience.

We were looking for a less touristic restaurant, with more traditional food. Searocco did not disappoint. Very tasty dishes based on traditional Cretan dishes but with a modern twist. Everything we ordered was tasty and fresh. The restaurant offers a nice variety of appetizers, main dishes with pasta or meat and fresh fish. We especially enjoyed the grilled sardines. We will visit again on our next visit to Ierapetra!

I strongly believe this is the same restaurant as Astrophengia. The kitchen is on the other side of the road. From the very beginning, we were trying to find Astrophengia , but the waitress kept saying SeaRocco. We finally realized they are the same place. The food is superb. We had the traditional snail, grilled calamari, grilled sardines and risotto. They are still the best we 've tasted in Crete. And the price is very reasonable. Definitely recommend anyone to this place. The wait staff is also very friendly.
