The restaurant is quite busy, so be prepared to wait if you didn't make a reservation. We ordered the red snapper base for 3-4 people at $55, which had a very nice and flavorful soup base. We also had the prawn paste chicken, sambal nyonya squid, and stir-fried qinglong vegetable. All the dishes were delicious and arrived promptly. We especially enjoyed the seasoning in the squid and the fluffy, tasty batter on the p... View all feedback.
Whampoa keng offers set meals starting from $80 for two, which comprise fish head soup, prawn paste chicken, tofu andcrab meat as well as mango pudding. Could be the rain but i thought the fish soup was absolutely delish that day. The soup, which carried a subtle seafood taste, was light and sweetened by the grouper fish. Prawn paste chicken is fried to perfection. Meat was moist. Tofu is alright, itll be better if its was hotter.
Have to decide where to go for celebration. Last min decide to try my luck, made a phone call to them and… I was lucky! Awesome dinner! Great experience! Highly recommended!
Loving the fish head steam boat. The soup is awesome. The only reason for the 4 star n not 5 is the confusing q system outside they have, or if they even hav. (Update, just book before coming down)
Used to like it alot especially the claypot salted fish pork belly but it's no longer as good as it used to be. There is lack of salted fish fragrant in the dish. The recommended fried tofu is a missed, overly oily, couldn't finish it at all due to mouthful of oil in each bite. The fish steamboat was the saving grace for the stars. I had the grouper pot for 2 pax at $40, not the cheapest but the soup is comforting especially on rainy days.
The food at this restaurant was excellent, the service was quick, and it's definitely one of my go-to comfort food spots! The red garoupa was fresh, sweet, and flaky, and the soup really brought out its flavors. The prawn rolls were also delicious, with the sweet sauce perfectly complementing the savory taste. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! The only downside is that it's a bit pricey - the steamboat cost $45.
