In terms of food, it is a bit on the pricey side but definitely worth the money. The portion sizes are generous, and the taste is quite good. The presentation and ambiance are also impressive. The main reason I didn’t give a 5-star rating is the waiting time; it took about 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Additionally, the staff only informed us that the food would take a while after we had already placed our order and paid. Had we known beforehand, we might have chosen to eat elsewhere instead of waiting.

Two Bakers Café, which is located at 88 Horne Road, 209083, has received many positive reviews on social media with one of the chefs previously trained at Le Cordon Bleu Paris. During the Labour Day and Hari Raya Puasa holidays, we had brunch at this Café to find out for ourselves if this café was deserving of the attention as one of the best breakfast place in Singapore. We ordered their flagship brunch, “Two Bakers Breakfast” (S$24 , which has scrambled eggs, sautéed mushrooms, tater tots, avocado, smoked BBQ beans, spicy Italian sausage, sourdough toast, balsamic tomatoes, salad. Scrambled eggs’ portion was huge and good for two persons, avocado was firm and freshly cut, smoked beans were well balanced and nothing you have eaten. The Italian sausage, which was about 7-8 inches long, was not too spicy and definitely very tasty. However, the salad was a bit of a disappointment as it appeared to be soaked in vinaigrette dressing for sometime and hence, it was mushy and felt like leftover salad. They would be better if the vinaigrette dressing were applied just before serving. At Two Bakers Café, you could also build your own brunch. It has wide selection of 22 items to choose from (e.g. 4 different types of eggs, 2 types of sausages, etc. and you could also indicate the quantity of each of the items chosen. We also ordered the 64 degree egg, spicy pork sausage, pork bacon and sourdough toast. This combo portion is good enough for light breakfast. The 64 degree egg was done well; not overdone or too runny. The 2 strips of pork bacon were ordinary as we would like them to be slightly crispier and saltier. The cappuccino came with intricate artwork design which put a smile on our faces. At S$5.50, it was reasonable price. Intensity and flavour of the beans were quite similar to the usual high street coffee chains. However, I would prefer my coffee to be warmer than what was actually served. This place was crowded and queues were forming outside at late morning. Advance booking is recommended if you prefer to sit indoors. Otherwise, there are a few tables outdoors. While the Two Bakers Café prided itself to be a great place to hangout, we were given up to 90 minutes to enjoy our meal by the serving crew before we had to vacate our table. Overall, this place definitely garnered much social media attention but in terms of value and food-wise, its breakfast was, in my opinion, above average (4* for the brunch items which we had selected. However, we would like visit this place again to try their mains during lunch and dinner next time.
