Description

Located in the CBD, this BBQ-focused spot serves confidently smoked meats and craveable burgers in a lively, slightly upscale fast-casual setting. Highlights include flavorful burnt ends, wagyu cheeseburger, beef short ribs and a varied meat platter; cornbread with smoked butter and cocktails pair well with a solid Australian wine list. Service is friendly and efficient, though brisk at times. Quality can be uneven—brisket and some ribs vary—and portions and prices skew pricey. Takeout and delivery available; beer-on-tap selection is limited.

One of my favorite spots for food and drinks! The meat platter is delicious, and the cocktails are fantastic. This place, created by the team behind Burnt Ends, is perfect for sampling a variety of their flavorful smoked and barbecue meats. I have to say, the cornbread with smoked butter is probably my favorite dish here!

The restaurant offers classic American BBQ dishes, and the quality is definitely evident. There's a certain charm to the atmosphere as well. I had heard quite a bit about Meatsmith, so we decided to give it a try. The service was excellent—friendly and efficient. While the staff moves quickly, sometimes a bit too quickly for my taste, they certainly get the job done. However, I don't think I'll be coming back frequently, as it felt more like an upscale fast-food BBQ joint during my last visit, rather than a full-fledged restaurant experience.

Fantastic BBQ! I absolutely love the beef brisket. It's grilled to perfection and so juicy that it just melts in your mouth. The pork chop with truffle is amazing as well—super tender and pairs perfectly with the special mustard sauce. It's a great spot if you're willing to spend a little extra. And don’t forget to order some red wine, as it really enhances the flavors!

I visited this restaurant based on a friend's recommendation. Although we arrived early for our lunch reservation, it took us half an hour to find available parking in the busy CBD during peak lunchtime. We ordered the beef short rib ($68), which weighed 400g including the bone, spiced pork ribs ($22), beef brisket ($22), and mac and cheese ($10). I had high hopes for the beef short ribs, but they weren’t as tender as I had anticipated. They also came across as somewhat dry and overly sweet. One of my friends mentioned that the pork ribs had a slightly strong "porky" smell, but I personally didn’t mind it. At least they were more tender than the beef short ribs. The beef brisket tasted very similar to the beef short ribs but was available at a much lower price. Our total bill for three people was nearly $150. However, the highlight of our visit was definitely the service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and humorous, which made our meal much more enjoyable than it otherwise would have been.

I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The burger might not appear large due to having less bread, but the combination of meat and other ingredients makes it quite satisfying. It was cooked perfectly, without being overdone. However, the beef brisket burger was slightly on the dry side. I highly recommend the Wagyu cheese burger—it’s fantastic! The fries were absolutely delicious, and the hamachi tacos were enjoyable too, although a bit small. I tried the blue lagoon lager, which was crisp and refreshing. Overall, I highly recommend this place!
