Rooster's Bar & Grill - Simcoe
Rooster's Bar & Grill
Description
Roosters, an iconic pub near Georgian College, has seen better days. While still maintaining a decent atmosphere, the service is lacking and the menu has dwindled. Despite changes, loyal customers appreciate the nostalgic feel. However, newer spots like Hoodlums and Chill have garnered attention for great food and friendly service in a more modern setting. Roosters may still be loved by some, but it's facing tough competition in Barrie's pub scene.

This bar is a great place for drinks. If the owner mentions that she made the stew herself, definitely give it a try - it's highly recommended. However, the rest of the menu is average and not prepared well.
The food at this restaurant is amazing, the staff is wonderful, and the terrace is open for dining. Make sure to check it out. Pro tip: ask about the specials on offer.
Pound for pounds the best pub in barrie. If 10 stars were an option, I would have chosen that. The best Calamari I've had for years. Sports, great service and great offers for beer and food, how can you go wrong?
Roosters is a beautiful hangout bar and scenic terrace with some privacy. Have tested some foods as they have daily specialties and it is not bad at all. Personally, it is 5 minutes walk from home so perfect for me. Great case is that they only take cash and there is an ATM at the front door that asks you to take money. Get at least one machine without fees if you just want cash.
Good local pub. Servers are always friendly. The food menu could use an overhaul but it is generally good quality. Not kid friendly however. The server working the upper area will not allow children up there. I'm not sure if she doesn't want to deal with kids, but it makes no sense from a licensing standpoint. Doesn't make sense to have a family restaurant and kids options when people with kids are going to be sent to an area of the restaurant where there are no people.
