Went to Beatrix for breakfast: Chakchouka and the steak were great, well seasoned and the coffee was strong and tasted quality beans! Service was impeccable! They stop serving breakfast at 11 o’clock weekdays! Oh the sweets are great too: o tried the cinammon bun : very well done and not too sweet! Gréât place! View all feedback.
What Iñigo Isaba doesn't like about Beatrix:
I visited by myself and asked for a table for brunch. They only offered me the bar, which was crowded. I asked about sitting outside, which was 2/3 empty, and they told me there was an hour wait I'm sorry but don't believe it it's just another instance of discrimination against the solo traveler. Delicious! Seated quickly. Lemon pancakes were the best thing we ordered. Biscuits and gravy is a very responsible portion size and very good. Avocado toast with Poke was legit the best AT I’ve ever had. Only hiccup was they don’t know how to make a cappuccino, it was just a scalded (aka burnt) milk latte with a glob of foam. The energy shots are very good, super potent.
Slow service and mediocre food for the price. There are much better options in Chicago.
Sat at the bar as there was a long wait. Music being played was very good and covered a lot of genres, it also wasn't so loud we couldn't hear each other. Had breakfast food was very tasty.
Great place for breakfast or lunch if you are in the area. They have a market section where you can make your own food selection. And since it's in a hospital building, the food is replenished frequently which ensures that it hasn't been cooked for too long.
Food and service is second to none. Great atmosphere and a delicious bakery selection. Best part of all is the GM at Beatrix. Jordan is stellar and such a great guy. Runs a tight ship!
