Decent chain pub food at a good price, good selection of drinks and plenty of choice on the menu. Sat outside in the sun for pre meal drinks, very pleasant, friendly staff and a good atmosphere. But what was really great about this place was Andy, the manager, nothing was too much trouble and really took time to chat about our visit, the pub, area etc. What makes good pubs is good staff who care and Andy is a credit to Marston's who leads by example. All very covid safe and it was good to see young staff challenging customers on not wearing mask's etc.

The food was very poor, a microwa... read more Staying in the hotel next door it seemed an obvious choice for a dinner on arrival. The staff were just there to do their job. The food was very poor, a microwave was used a little too long! With eyes closed, we couldn 't have decided the contents on taste alone. Chicken Tikka Masala was tastless with pulled chicken that was too hard to eat. Jam roly poly was a solid square lump of not cooked through 'dough ' with a meagre scraping of jam on top. Two hungry diners retreated to our room for snacks. Not to be repeated. Travel into Ludlow!!
