Experience Soul Food Cafe' - Shreveport

My husband and I went here for a snack and a juice… we ordered the juice with no ice but it came with ice.. had to change. The chips were so oily they were pretty inedible. It’s very overpriced also. The views are nice but wouldn’t return.

Where to start? The STUNNING view? The FANTASTIC food (try the plantain tacos and the date tahini shake)? The WELCOMING staff? The CERTIFIED surf instructors (seriously a lot of the other places are not certified)? My partner and I were here for 4 days and were in absolute heaven. It’s a short walk (or 100 rupees auto) along the beach to a lovely going out cliff top strip of shops and restaurants, but Soul and Surf is secluded, secured and divine. A steep walk down the cliff goes to a private beach with clean, frothy waves. The surf instructors are top notch. We both learned to surf in three lessons (to varying degrees) and had an absolute blast! We loved that the British owners taught a group of local kids to surf over a decade ago and those kids have grown up to be the surf instructors (as well as winning a lot of Indian surf competitions). Seriously cannot recommend enough. We will be back!!!!

A lovely place to while away an afternoon. Good food, great home made juices. Shade! Friendly staff. Wonderful view over the ocean.

Really friendly good service, great food and lovely atmosphere to chill out. Quiet, nice breeze, loads of shade. Laid back but really professional quality service, nice combination that makes people very comfortable and want to come back.
