Sampled the Chicken Pastry Puff, Samosa Veg, Samosa Chicken, Butter Chicken, and Goat Biryani. Everything was tasty and well prepared. The Butter Chicken portion is smaller than I expected. They also own the market next door where you can pickup fresh vegetables, dairy products, frozen items, meat, and freshly made Chicken Pastry Puff and Veggie Samosas at the register. I definitely will come back to try other items... View all feedback.
What Srija John doesn't like about Al-medinah:
Ordered vegetable biryani and received this unflavored turmeric and oils rice. It is very impressive how they managed to make this rice so flavorless!! All this has was overcooked rice, turmeric, oil and some vegetables scraps (not even enough salt)! If I could give 0 starts I would. Normal rice in other restaurants is more flavorful than this so called “vegetable biryani” View all feedback.
Ordered dessert from this restaurant. They didn't have any rice pudding so I ordered more rasmalai. I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. I have actually returned to order more before needing to leave Richmond. I would highly recommend the rasmalai.
I personally was not a fan of the food I received, but the portions were massive. You definitely get your money's worth.
Everything is halal, everything is delicious, and if you can speak Bangla or Urdu, talk to the people working there, I had some of the best conversations with the people who work here. They're very kind and constantly give me more food and drinks than what I paid for, even when I ask them not to. If you're desi, and you miss the food from your homeland and you miss how warm and kind everyone was from your culture. Then come here, this little corner store feels like I'm at my uncle and aunt's house in Bangladesh getting a home cooked meal.
Bad experience, my first experience there I ordered goat biryani and got a large plate of rice and a piece of bone. Never again.
Great chicken Biryani. Family back was generous in size, tasty , and contained a ton of chicken (bone in).
