The restaurant is much larger inside than it appears from the outside! I was impressed by the delicious food and outstanding service. Amanda surprised me with a slice of her gluten-free carrot cake, which she didn't even know was my favorite. I will definitely be returning for more! View all feedback.
What Devann W doesn't like about Firewater Smokehouse Grill:
The food was better than expected. However not a place I would go for date night. More of a trucker's vibe. The waitress I had was good. The place is pretty run down. View all feedback.
The restaurant offers large portions at affordable prices. Despite its appearance as an old motel, don't let that deter you. The service is friendly, although they seem to be understaffed like many other places. I tried the 3 Meat combo with German sausage, Brisket, and Pulled Pork. The white sauce was excellent, but the homemade Baked Beans were the standout dish.

We called ahead to make a reservation for a Valentine's Day special menu advertised in the local paper. When we arrived at 5 pm, we were disappointed to find that it was seat yourself, despite having made a reservation. We ended up at a tiny two-seater table. The restaurant quickly filled up, and it took 20 minutes for our server to take our drink order. Another 20 minutes passed before we received one of our two drinks, as they had run out of cups. The service was extremely slow, with our server walking by our table multiple times without acknowledging us. Several other tables in our section were also waiting for service. We eventually tried to flag someone down to pay for our drink and leave. The server apologized for the poor service and did not charge us for the drink. Despite having enjoyed good food and service at the restaurant in the past, this experience put a damper on our Valentine's Day celebration. It's unlikely that we will return in the future.
The only thing worth mentioning at this restaurant is the exceptional staff. My husband and I both ordered the two meat combo - I chose ribs and pulled pork, while he chose ribs and brisket. Unfortunately, the pulled pork was drenched in grease and looked like it had been processed in a blender. It seemed as though it had been slow-cooked all day, along with the ribs. It was clear that this place was not a true smokehouse. The only enjoyable part of our meal was the baked potato. Despite the positive reviews, we left feeling confused and disappointed.
A group of 11 stopped into Firewater for dinner while travelling to Sturgis. Firewater was walking distance from our hotel. Unfortunately, Firewater closes really early on a Friday night (9pm). Our group was easily seated in the lounge. During our visit karaoke was featured in the lounge. Fun free entertainment. Firewater offers a full bar. Firewater offers Happy Hour from 4pm-6pm. Firewater charges $5 to split/share a plate and $1 for take-out orders. My wife sipped on a couple double Jameson and Coke's for $9 each while I sipped on a couple Line 39 Chardonnay for $8 a glass. We shared the Pig Balls (qty 6) for $9.95: pulled pork, cream cheese, pepper Jack cheese and jalapenos. Battered and deep fried. Delish! Our main meal was the Two Meat Combo for $13.99. Our meat choices were Italian Sausage and Pulled Pork. Our side choices were Baked Beans and a Side Salad. Our least favorite item ended up being the Italian Sausage. The rest of our food was delish. Our server was friendly and efficient.
