Our favorite restaurant on Shelter Island is without a doubt. The food is consistently good and the menu has something for everyone. The fish entrees are always fresh and delicious. Our grandchildren especially enjoy the mussels and sushi. The staff is friendly and attentive. The waterfront setting adds to the overall dining experience. View all feedback.
What JEANNE doesn't like about SALT Shelter Island:
Not good. Undercooked mussels, inedible lobster roll. Wait staff young and inexperienced. When we told them mussels were undercooked the response was, “what do you want, to have them cooked some more?” Not how it works with mussels, dear. Instead we asked for more bread so we could at least enjoy the broth. Bread didn’t come until entrees came, and it was a mountain of bread — which read like an F U. The wine was goo... I love salt!!!! I go to shelter island every summer with my family and I never know where to go out to eat.
Loved our meal at SALT! We came in with the dog and had an amazing spot outside on the deck, on a sunny day, it was just perfect!!! The staff was very nice
Sat at the bar and Robert was taking care of us. He made amazing drinks for us. You MUST try one of his specials. The food was served quickly and was cooked perfectly. I will be back!
The service and ambiance here was excellent. The menu was very well rounded. We got filet mignon and Royal Red Shrimp to share with salads, sauteed garlic mushrooms and baked potato. There were baskets of a variety of breads and two kinds of butter. Truffles were provided at the end of the meal. It was a beautiful dining experience!
Our fourth time dining at Scarlet Steak and Seafood, very nice fine dining with a very good selection.
