Went to Amici with two friends and had one of the best meals I've had in months. I eat out a lot in sheffield and have become fed up with many places this was a pleasant surprise and is on a par with many upmarket...restaurants in the city. The setting is lovely and having grown up in dore it's a great benefit to the village. I had blade if beef and it was served with gravy veg and on a bed of pea purée. The beef fel... What Nicole Baker doesn't like about Amici Wine:
My wife and I had been to Amici previously and we found the food and service good. We returned again and it was not upto our expectations. The service was very poor and amateurish. I had steak pie, which was very good but the chips were like crisps and again either ove... View all feedback.
We dined at this restaurant on a quiet Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed a chilled bottle of sauvignon blanc. I ordered the salmon and prawn salad, which was beautifully presented with a generous amount of seafood and two large king prawns on the side. My husband had the fish and chips, which came with a large piece of fish, homemade chips, and a generous portion of mushy peas, although it could have been warmer. The service was pleasant, but they did not have a dessert menu. We had to ask at the bar for dessert options, which was a bit odd. Unfortunately, when we went to pay, their card machine was not working so my husband had to walk to a nearby ATM. Overall, the restaurant was nice with decent food at a reasonable price. We would likely return in the future.
This was the best tapas I have ever had. The shrimp in tomato and paprika sauce was delicious, and I also received a complimentary glass of sangria with my meal. I highly recommend trying the tapas on Tuesday nights.
I have been to this restaurant 2 or 3 times and have never been disappointed. The service is friendly and helpful, and the food is wonderful. We are excited for our next visit, if we are in the area again.
We visited amici wine bar for mothers day and had a total good experience. the atmosphere, the weeping and the friendliness of most employees were the best part of our visit. but it wasn't as wonderful as we expected. the BBQ ridges too. at first had a lot of meat up and were nice and tender, but what made them down that they were cold. Normally we would have sent them back or complained, but if they were in a big group, they don't want to sit there especially, don't eat and from the sync with all the others. the chicken with speck for the main was overwhelmed with sauce and rosmarin, and they could have been more generous on kartoffels. all the meals were ok, but no one shaved and said how brilliant it was. but the deserts were beautiful, I would recommend their chocolate brownie served with custard for which was to die! most of the problems could probably sit down on a busy mother's day, although that should not be excused. but we are curious to try again in the future, but we would not hurry back soon.
We regularly visit and have always received a warm welcome from Tina, Dawn, Samantha and Katy but our meal last night was quite simply amazing! Chef cooked this Hot Fruits de Mer for us. It consisted of a platter for each of us overflowing with...lobster, mussels, cod, giant prawns, scallops and crab all in a delicious white wine sauce. We ordered a couple of portions of chips as we had no idea how big this dish was going to be but these proved to be completely unnecessary due to the enormous amount of seafood, although they were very tasty. I can't believe we were able to enjoy this feast so near to home. Chef Antony cooks with passion which is clearly reflected in the food he serves. I can't praise him enough. A lovely evening with excellent service from Katy. I have no hesitation in recommending.
