I love this place. It's my go to for vegan options when I'm in the area. Everything is so flavorful. My favorites are the vegan egg foo young, vegan sausage and vegan burger. They are all soooo delicious. And the homemade sweet tea is good too. Definitely worth trying.
I tried this place for the first time yesterday and the food was so go good!!! I really liked the flavor of the batter that my conch and mushrooms were fried. The Mac and cheese had great flavor and consistency. The cashier was super nice. I'm already excited to go back!!
Waited 75 minutes on our order (2 tacos, vegan wings w/fries, mac cheese and a side of okra) while 8-10 orders were placed and fulfilled after ours. Each time I inquired, I was given a different excuse. First, it was that there was a large call-in order ahead of mine that put them behind. I was fully aware as the other cashier was taking that order while I was placing mine but they had picked up that order more than 20 min before I first inquired why it was taking so long. 30 min later I inquired again and was told they were waiting on the mac cheese, it takes 20 minutes . I had waited 65 minutes at this point so that was obviously a lie. When the mac cheese finally came out, I was told they were waiting on fries for the wings. Then they were waiting on the okra. Once we got home (20 min away), no okra in the bag. I can speculate on why we were treated this way but I 'll keep those thoughts to myself. One thing is for sure, I 'll never visit them again.
The experience was average overall. I had a craving for conch and decided to sample a few items from the menu, including shrimp mac and cheese, spicy wings, and conch salad. I was hoping for more flavor, especially from the wings. The mac and cheese was okay, but not worth the $13 given the small serving size; it should have been outstanding at that price. The conch salad was quite tasty, though it had a bit of a bitter aftertaste and was more vegetable-heavy than I expected. If you're looking for truly excellent conch, I recommend trying The Conch Shell in Ajax; I've never been disappointed with anything on their menu.
The fritters were overcooked and tough. I ordered sausage mac to go with it, but it was only cooked on top and cold in the middle, as if it had been leftover from yesterday and just broiled for a few minutes before being sold to me for $20. I drove for 8 minutes with it, and as soon as I got home, I had to put it in the microwave. Not impressed.
