After a number of restaurants in Serignan we chose Valras. Unfortunately not booked (Missnahme Nr. 1) it was so busy to make a quick return to Serignan. Luckily Brasserie Fop had a table, so we made the decision to eat there. Initially, the service was slow, as you can expect sometimes, but as we already had an ordeal in Valras, our mood was already slightly spoiled. We finally ordered drinks a carafe of rose and Orangina. Unfortunately, the wine first came out as a single glass, so politely mentioned the mistake. When the carafe finally arrived 15 minutes later, it was in a Jack Daniels bottle that was amusing, but unfortunately was also less than chilled. We were then handed over the chalkboard with the menu that was barely readable and made it difficult to translate. When we finally got the attention of the waiter and managed to get some ice cubes for the wine, we got help to decrypt the menu. Food came and was ok for a set menu, but nothing remarkable. Always difficult if you are in less than tolerant mood, but unfortunately would not go there again due to the service, chalkboard and warm wine. Excuse Brasserie Fop, but not for us.

Unfortunately, the restaurant I had booked a table for my birthday dinner was unexpectedly closed when we showed up today, perhaps because of the Kovid Virus limitations) . We drove near Serignan in half past 12 were denied by a restaurant we enjoyed before when they were full. Luckily, Fop's very busy restaurant has made a table chairs for us on their terrace to fit us and leave a spacious space between tables due to Kovid 19. The staff was dragged out of their feet with the crowd that we had today due to the beautiful weather. However, the waitress came with table settings, cutlery glasses for us. After a while we could give our orders from the table with menu choices. The paste, the Spanish dish the hot Camembert stars were great, we have tasted each other dishes. The men had the steak chips while my sister I had the Gambas salad for the main meal, delicious, well presented generous portions. For the desert the house apricot cake with rum made the caramel mousse . Many local red wines in a jug to wash it with we had a wonderful experience. Thank you to the friendly staff who have made my birthday a success after they have been established by two other places. At under 15 euros per person it was great, we will definitely be back!

We ate here last summer (July 2019). After we really enjoy the night market in Serignan, our family of 5 starved, so started looking for a place to eat. All other restaurants around the beautiful place were very busy, Fops Restaurant was one of the few that tables available. We sat down, were greeted by very friendly staff and gave the menus that quote decent prices and some interesting and also standard food we thought the children would be able to enjoy. Then the food arrived, good mourning! Where I start, the chips were incredibly fat, the baked cheese was clear in a microwave, the steak was fat and gummy, the squid was over boiled and still contained one of the 'suckers' that you should remove before serving, the 'Ox stew' looked like ground on a plate and the whole food was so unedible we after trying to leave a quarter of our meals. We chose the 3-course menu, the meal was so bad the children didn't even stay to see Dessert, now that says everything! I will say the staff was absolutely fine and for some reason other customers seemed happy enough, but honestly we were shocked on the standard of food, the worst we had during our stay in France.

If you are in this area and feel like a good steak Fops fau fillet is unbeatable. To get a good big, you have to order it alone the on the cheap and good value menu is significantly smaller. And his chips are first class not the burnt offerings you get in many places.

This place doesn’t look like much and we didn’t visit it until the very last night we were on holiday but we were so wrong. The food is authentic to the region and very very tasty. It’s simple stuff eg escalope and frites, Roquefort pasta etc but taste wise it is head and shoulders above anything else we had in and around Serignan eating out each night over a period of two weeks. Make sure you peruse the blackboard as you come in as they don’t have menus as such. You just choose a course from each list of starters, mains and desserts on the board. At 32 euros for both of us including drinks it’s also the cheapest meal we had there. Don’t be fooled by some of the other restaurants immediately surrounding this one. They may look fancier but we tried them all and they just weren’t worth the money.
