I visited a restaurant in Myeongdong that was located in the basement of the Catholic Church in the area. It seems to have recently moved to a communal house called Masil, across from the church near YMCA. The restaurant also featured expats selling homemade spaghetti sauce, hummus, and other products. It was a great opportunity to discover local vegetarian restaurants, independent food producers, and craftsmen selling their goods. I enjoyed talking to some of the vendors about their products. One thing I noticed at the farmers' market was that many people brought their own dining plates and utensils, possibly to reduce waste. Luckily, a friend had extra supplies so I could enjoy the food there. I think bringing your own items is a good idea. I recommend bringing containers and shopping bags if you plan to purchase items. Another location for a similar market is in Hyehwa. There is at least one market per month in either Myeondong or Hyehwa. You can see pictures on the organizer's Instagram @marchefriends and check their website (available in Korean only) for schedules and participants.
